What is Secure Voice Messaging (SVM)?
Secure Voice Messaging is the latest way of communicating with online contacts and is provided exclusively by ChattaVox. Some years ago, Chattavox realised how much people loved online chat and decided to do something special - we introduced Secure Voice Messaging (SVM) as a fun addition to online chat. Through SVM, people can leave each other voice messages but still remain anonymous if they choose. It’s simple to leave a message and retrieve a message with your own personal voice mailbox.

Think voicemail not email.

Safety
With ChattaVox you get your own voice mail box number and PIN.
Safety is very important to Chattavox. Chattavox offers you personal voice mail that is accessed either from your mobile phone or from any landline. Your own mailbox has a code number and you are allocated a PIN - so YOU and only YOU can access your messages. You also never have to give out any of your personal information to anyone online!

Safety Rules
We strongly recommend you read and follow the safety tips below. They will ensure your safety.

  • Never give out your or any of your friend’s personal information in a chat room.
  • People online may not be who they say they are. Be careful.
  • If you want to hear voice messages from someone you meet online, give them your C-Vox Code. (NOT your PIN).

  • If you ever feel scared in a chat room, leave immediately and tell someone.
  • If you are under 18 get your parents permission to use a chat room.

  • If you are under 18, NEVER meet up with someone you’ve met in a chat room.
  • If someone has asked to meet you, discuss this with your parent(s) or carer(s).
  • If you are over 18, always meet in a public place. Ideally take a friend with you.
  • Do not go to the person’s house.
  • Take a fully charged mobile phone with calling credits.
  • Get someone to call you to check everything is ok.

Nature of messages
The messages you receive will be similar to voice messages that you receive on your mobile phone. You might want to hear from friends / contacts you make online - maybe something personal but at the same time keeping your distance. Or you might just want to hear their voice so you can get a better idea of what they are like. The messages should all be friendly!!

What to do about abuse?
We are dedicated to making sure ChattaVox is at all times a pleasant experience for everyone. But we understand that there are some people out there who think otherwise. If for some reason you do receive a voice message from someone you didn’t expect and if it is at all suspicious or abusive, please contact us immediately at abuse@chattavox.com with your C-Vox code. If you are under 18 you must also tell your parent(s) or guardian(s) about these messages immediately and let them listen to them.
