Preparing for a trip
Before we go on holiday there are various
preparations to ensure that the holiday is
enjoyable and stress free.
One of the most important factors is Travel
Insurance. Insurance can cover costs of
cancellations, injuries, and lost or damaged
property. There are different policies, so
enquire into which one is best suited to your
needs.
E111 Form
An E111 form is not essential however it is
advisable to have one to save money if there is
a medical emergency in another country. These
can be found in post offices.
Airport Parking
Airport parking should be booked 24 hours in
advanced and more in the summer periods when the
airports are busy.
Money
Don’t forget to exchange money or travellers
cheques before you leave and look around for a
good exchange rate so you get more for your
money.
Vaccinations
Some destinations require vaccinations, before
you leave enquire if you need any vaccinations
(your doctor should be able to tell you) or
which vaccinations you need. If so make an
appointment for you and your family to receive
them.
Hiring Cars
If you are hiring a car abroad it may be easier
to do so online prior to leaving. Also remember
to bring all the documents required, for
insurance purposes etc.
House sitter
Before you leave ensure that you have somebody
looking after the house, pets or to water the
plants whilst you are away. Burglars take
advantage of people who are on holiday.
