As
part of Casio’s on-going support of the use of ICT tools in the
classroom, our Education Team is pleased to offer schools the
opportunity to run one of our G-Plus Training courses for Graphic
Calculators.
|
Casio is aware of the present maths teacher shortage in schools and that
less experienced and non-specialist teachers are being employed to
teach. Our G-Plus courses are designed to combat these shortfalls by
providing training that will enable all teachers of maths to get the
most out of ICT use in the classroom.
All
of our trainers are fully qualified and experienced maths teachers who
cater for a range of abilities. This means that G-Plus is ideal for
teachers with little ICT experience and for those who feel they are ICT
literate but wish to brush up on their existing skills and learn new
ones. |
 |
Some
of the key topics covered include inequalities, simple functions,
sequences, programs and list facilities. The courses also provide an
introduction to the use of Graphic Calculators, valuable teaching tips
and classroom management ideas.
The
courses are run regionally across mainland UK and are taught using the
FX-9750GPLUS Graphic Calculator although the majority of areas covered
can be used in conjunction with the FX-7400GPLUS. Both of these
calculators are recommended and approved for Key Stage 3, 4 and A level
lessons and examinations.
The
Education Team at Casio can also assist LEAs by providing a trainer to
deliver a G-Plus Training Course for a cluster of regional schools. The
content can be tailored to suit localised Continuing Professional
Development needs.
If
you would like to find out more about the G-Plus courses, please contact
the Education Administrator (tel: 020 8208 7802; e-mail:
education@casio.co.uk).
Alternatively teachers in your area can complete the online form and
submit it to us. This can be found on the G-Plus section of the Casio
Education Website (www.casio.co.uk/education).
