What is plaque?
Plaque is a sticky, yellow-coloured film that constantly forms on our teeth. Plaque can harden into tartar if its not removed by daily brushing.

Everyone develops plaque, as it is constantly forming in our mouths. It is very important to remove plaque from your teeth as it is the first stage towards more serious problems such as cavities and gum disease. The bacteria used in the ingredients found in our diet and saliva to grow. Plaque can irritate the gums around the teeth leading to gingivitis.

How can I prevent plaque building up on my teeth?
 


Brush thoroughly twice a day
Floss daily
Limit sugary and starchy foods
Schedule regular dental visits for professional cleaning and dental examinations.
