History
Years ago in Europe it was tradition to bury a child’s tooth in the ground when it fell out. This was done so that a new tooth would grow in its place. Another reason why people did this was so witches couldn’t curse a child as they could with their hair etc. Due to people migrating, these traditions have developed and spread all over the world. This created the story of the Tooth Fairy.

The Fairytale

Once upon a time, in a huge castle, on the other side of the rainbow, lived the Tooth Fairy. The Tooth Fairy was called Pearl E White. Her mother was a tooth fairy and so she gave her job to Pearl when she became old enough.

Pearls mother and grandmother were both tooth fairies. Tooth fairies began years and years ago when Pearl's grandmother decided that children's teeth were to pretty to throw away. She believed that clean teeth sparkle like stars in the sky, so maybe the teeth should be added to the sky as stars. Pearl's grandmother offered money in return for the teeth. This is why children place their teeth underneath their pillows.

The tooth fairy would fly through the window, wave her wand, and the tooth would fly to the big pink cloud on the other side of the rainbow. However, if it’s a nasty, rotten tooth, it would fly straight to the castle's dungeon. The dungeon is for all the bad, nasty teeth with cavities, so you need to make sure that your teeth don’t end up in the dungeon! The tooth is replaced with money as a sign of gratitude.
