The Golden Hinde is a real sailing galleon which has made
a circumnavigation of the World and sailed over 140,000 miles.
The ship has 5 levels of deck including the gun deck and 22
cannons. It is an educational museum open to the public 7 days a
week and used extensively by schools for hands-on learning
through our various programmes. |

Berthed by London Bridge and the new
Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, a visit to the reconstruction of
Sir Francis Drake’s ship is of particular relevance to students
studying Tudors, Stuarts, Elizabethans, Voyages of Discovery or

Public
We offer various opportunities for groups and individuals to
experience life as a 16th century sailor. Dressed in period
clothes, eating Tudor fare and learning skills of the
Elizabethan seafarer, the would-be privateers set out on an
imaginary voyage of discovery with Francis Drake and his crew
