Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease

First things first; this children's' disease is NOT related at all to the foot and mouth disease in cattle. It is a mild illness where the only symptoms are similar to that of a mild common cold. The child rarely has a fever with hand, foot and mouth disease. The name comes form the tiny blisters that appear on the palm of the hands, soles of the feet and inside the mouth. The blisters will remain for a few days and then disappear completely with no scarring.

What to do

There is no treatment for hand, foot and mouth disease.
It will clear up pretty quickly.
