Hay Fever

Hay fever, for all intense purposes is an allergy to pollen. Its real name is Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis. Approximately one fifth (20%) of the UK population suffer from hay fever at one time or another. Obviously the late spring and summer months are the worst. Hay fever is the generic name for allergies to pollens and it may be that your hay fever is only triggered by the pollen of certain trees and flowers. Symptoms include a stuffy and/ or runny nose and irritable eyes.

What to Do

Consult your doctor. Depending on the age of the sufferer there are a number of alternative treatments including pills and nasal sprays. To be honest it is quite individual and you will find some do the job and others don't. However unless there are any specific medical issues your doctor will help you find the treatment that is most effective for you.
