Non Specific Viral Infection
Many viruses can cause a red spotty rash to appear on the body. Your doctor is likely to refer to
the virus as a 'non specific viral infection'. This is not because your doctor does not know what it is, but rather to find out what the exact virus is will take longer than the recovery period.
ie. By the time they find out the specific name and nature of the virus, your child will be cured.
Your doctor will expect the virus to last no longer than five days. However if the virus does last
longer you should go back to your doctor as soon as possible.
What to do
Keep the sufferer comfortable and inside the house.
Stay aware and if the rash does not subside after 5 days go to the doctor as soon as possible.
