Student Account

Banking on campus

You'll find student advisers in all campus branches, to help you manage your money and give you advice on how to stay out of debt.

Instant access to your money
Need cash quick? Use your Cashcard to get instant access to your money 24 hours a day through the Natwest nationwide network of over 30,000 cash machines, and abroad where you see the Cirrus or Maestro logos.

Pay in shops with your card
Use your Cashcard as a debit card, to pay for goods and services where you see the Solo logo and abroad where you see the Maestro logo.

24 hour access to your account
Bank at any time of the day or night, from home, work or abroad, with the Natwest 24-hour telephone banking and OnLine Banking services. System updates may mean that the service is unavailable for a brief period during the early hours of the morning.

Save money as you study
Natwest won't charge account fees, even when you're overdrawn, and all agreed overdrafts are interest-free. This means that Natwest may be able to help you reduce your living costs.

Fee free services
There's no annual fee if you get a Student Mastercard and no commission to pay on travellers' cheques or foreign money. They will even give you a discount on our travel insurance range.

Stay covered on campus
Their optional Student Belongings Insurance protects your personal belongings and your landlord's property, whether you live in Halls, rented or shared accommodation, at specially negotiated rates.

Can I apply?
To apply, you must be a permanent UK resident (a permanent UK resident is someone who has been ordinarily resident in the UK for three years or more) and studying full-time at a university or college of higher education in the United Kingdom. Your course must be at least two years long, or a postgraduate course, and:
o an undergraduate degree, such as a BA, BSc, LLB or BEd
o a postgraduate course such as an MA, MSc, PGCE, PhD or MBA
o a diploma of higher education
o a BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND)
o a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ), levels 4 and 5 only
o a Diploma in Nursing Studies: Project 3000

Young Savers Account
An instant access savings account for the under 11s, which offers a good interest rate and is a fun way to save money. You get a brilliant folder, which tells you about using your account, with stickers and a wall chart.

The instant access account for children under 11 that's designed to make saving fun.
Children are never too young to start saving and the NatWest Young Saver account makes saving fun for kids under 11.

Young Savers get a great rate and:
o A folder packed with information about how to use their account
o A chart and colourful stickers so they can record what they're saving and the progress

There is no minimum balance and the child’s savings will earn a competitive 4.74% AER from the start.

Mobile Phone Top Ups
There’s a great new way to top-up your mobile - at any Natwest cash machines. And it’s really quick and easy.

If you have a pay as you go mobile, you can top-up any of the main UK networks, including Orange, O2, Vodafone pre pay mobile, Virgin Mobile and T-Mobile.

Free services to make banking easier
The Card Plus account also comes with a free card wallet, statement folder and paying-in book cover and tips on how to manage your money.

If you are 18 years or over Current Plus offers all you need for straightforward banking, with a Cashcard or Servicecard and a flexible Credit Zone Overdraft option. This account also offers 24-hour Internet and telephone banking.
