The National Gallery welcomes learners of all ages. There are activities for everyone ranging from storytelling, family tours and art workshops to lectures, courses and summer schools.

School visits
The National Gallery can offer schools and colleges a large team of skilled and experienced gallery teachers to help you and your students access the collection. The paintings can be used to enrich learning in every area of the Curriculum including art: a visit to the Gallery will encourage students to learn how to read and enjoy looking at paintings, and show them how paintings can link with other subjects, and with their own experiences.

The Space@NG
The Education Department are delighted to showcase some of the work produced on our outreach and community programmes in The Space@NG, a purpose-made exhibition and teaching area for education projects.

The Space@NG was launched in February with the exhibition 'Line of Vision'. The Right Hon. Estelle Morris, Minister of Arts formally opened the exhibition space on 24 March 2004, as part of a special dissemination conference about the Gallery's work with the community. The Space@NG will be used to display a continuing programme of outreach exhibitions.

‘Take One Picture’ offers even more resources for teachers
www.takeonepicture.org is a web resource provided by the National Gallery, London for UK primary school teachers. The website has been enhanced and expanded in response to the overwhelming success of the National Gallery's ‘Take One Picture’ scheme. The scheme promotes the use of art as a resource for creative teaching across the primary curriculum.

The website has been created to increase the scheme’s reach - to inspire teachers nationwide and provide all the information and resources needed for getting involved in ‘Take One Picture’. The site contains easy-to-access information and provides free online resources, including teachers’ notes and zoomed images for all ‘Take One Picture’ paintings.
