The Worlds largest
skincare brand. |
NIVEA is the world’s largest skincare brand, present in
over 160 countries. Founded in 1911 as the world's first
stable water in oil emulsion, NIVEA Creme is credited as
being the beginning of modern skincare. It has
since grown to be one of the most widely-used and most
trusted products in the world – used by an estimated one
billion people around the world. Indeed, research by
AC Nielson indicates that the number of pots of NIVEA
Creme ever sold is equivalent to one pot per person who
ever lived!!!

Since the launch of NIVEA Creme in 1911, NIVEA has
expanded its horizons, utilising huge leaps in
technology made possible by its researchers, and has
extended its skincare expertise into new areas such as suncare, lipcare, deodorant, and bathcare. In 1998,
NIVEA launched NIVEA For Men – creating the
market for male-specific skincare products.
Innovation is key to NIVEA’s success, either through
innovations into new markets or through new products
into existing markets. In 2006 NIVEA launched NIVEA
body Sunkissed Skin, a daily moisturiser with a hint of
tan which also helps firm the skin. NIVEA Deodorant
launched Pearl & Beauty, a deodorant offering 24 hour
protection along with Peal extracts designed to leave
underarms feeling smooth and cared for.
Under the NIVEA superbrand, there are now 11 sub-brands,
operating in seven different categories – Facial
skincare (NIVEA VISAGE); General skincare (NIVEA Body,
NIVEA Creme, NIVEA Soft, NIVEA Lotion); Sun care (NIVEA
Sun); Lip care (NIVEA Lip Care); Male skincare (NIVEA
for Men); Deodorant (NIVEA Deodorant); Bath care
(NIVEA Bath Care) and Hand care (NIVEA Hand). Despite the variety of categories in
which the brand operates, its products can always be
traced back to its skincare heritage.
The NIVEA brand is one synonymous with caring for the
whole family – and as such has built a reputation of
representing quality and trustworthiness – NIVEA has
been ranked the most trustworthy skincare brand in 16
European countries, and has a strong and loyal consumer
base.
The NIVEA philosophy is one rooted around an expertise
in skincare, and of honesty and caring. Education is
key to much of NIVEA’s marketing, as it seeks to promote
skin protection and the association between healthy skin
and a healthy lifestyle. As such, NIVEA has been
associate sponsor of Cancer Research’s Race for Life for
the past four years; and has contributed several thousand
pounds to the cause.
