Showering – a part of the skincare regime
|
Showering has very much become the start of a whole body
care regime, with the increase in use of exfoliators, body
brushes, etc to prepare the skin for moisturising after a
shower. This comes from a surgence in the trend to pamper
and also to outside influences such as stress, tiredness and
pollution which can leave the skin feeling dry and in
need of some TLC.
People don't often think about the scientific
side of showering but the action of cleansing the skin isn't
entirely great news for your skin; often leaving it feeling
dry and tight. This is due to the cleansing agent residues
which can be left on the skin, even after you rinse. They
disturb the moisture balance of the skin and the enzyme
activity which keeps it protected. Some shower products are
formulated to combat this, reducing the residues left on the
skin and help to maintain the natural moisture balance of
the skin, keeping it feeling soft and smooth.
