School Link
School Link is a complete primary concept
developed for 7-11 year olds. Pupils and teachers can work at a computer or
an interactive whiteboard; finding out about children and gives an insight
to the different countries of the world. Save the Children provide the
information regarding the countries that they work within.
The first schools to be profiled are in rural
farming communities in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Children can learn
about these schools, the communities, the children who live there and the
country of Pakistan
School Link provides:
• Real life stories written by children regarding their everyday life,
interests and
what they do etc
• Facts and photographs from Pakistan
• Information about how to raise money for Save the Children
• Interactive games
• Lesson plans from experienced teachers
• Downloadable worksheets to use in the classroom
• Resources to teach children the similarities and differences of children
from
around the world.
• Extra background information on the country and the issues that they face.
School link gives children the opportunity to
raise money for Save the Children, encouraging them to make a difference for
example the ‘Friendship Friday’ event.
The educational resources which are found on
School Link cover key objectives for the National Curriculum. Information
and resources are updated every term, and lesson plans are updated annually.
