Free Marketing, Event Management and Customer Service Talks

Tower Bridge Exhibition’s marketing department offer free talks for groups studying Leisure, Travel and Tourism at GCSE, BTEC and A-level. We are also happy to talk to groups studying Events and Hospitality Management about the process of marketing and organising private and corporate events within Tower Bridge’s four venues.

Your group will be invited into the North Tower Lounge, Tower Bridge’s hospitality suite. The talk will last between 20 – 45 minutes, depending upon your requirements. After the talk your group will be left to visit Tower Bridge Exhibition. The Exhibition tour is self-guided, and lasts between 1 – 1.5 hours.

Marketing Talk

Tower Bridge attracts over 350,000 visitors a year to its Exhibition. It is also a private venue and filming location, as well a busy working bridge. Students will be able to discover which markets Tower Bridge targets and how, and what challenges the marketing team face.
The speaker can also cover the following areas:

• Destination marketing and the need to work with Tower Bridge’s competitors to promote the area in order to   attract tourists
• Research and the importance of understanding customers and their needs
• Planning ahead and monitoring the changing business environment in which Tower Bridge operates
• Promotions and advertising
• Working with and controlling budgets
• The role communications play in marketing effectively to Tower Bridge’s key stakeholder groups as well as    potential customers
• Implementing the marketing plan and evaluating its success

Event Management Talk
Tower Bridge hosts over 110 private and corporate events every year in its four venues.
The events team is required to build and maintain strong relationships with its major stakeholders, including customers, caterers, florists, advertisers and other bridge staff. The speaker will be able to discuss how the events team manages these relationships. She will also talk about the importance of monitoring the success of marketing campaigns and exploring emerging markets.

Customer Service Talk
Tourism is a service industry. The quality of a tourist’s experience is dependent upon the quality of interaction they have with the service provider.  At Tower Bridge, customer-facing staff are integral to the enjoyment visitors have at Tower Bridge. For this reason, quality-controls have been implemented to ensure that visitors are offered a high-standard of customer care. This talk will impress upon students the need to not only meet but exceed customer expectations in order to generate repeat business and positive word-of-mouth recommendations.  Customers’ needs are considered at all levels of the business, from the usability of Tower Bridge’s website to a fast-track entry system for groups.
