A
Parents' Guide to the Internet
For most of us, computers are exciting and stimulating but also puzzling. Our children tend to know far more about computers and the Internet than we do! Parents need to bridge the gap between what our children know and what we know in order to be able to help further with their schoolwork. It is also important to prepare our children for future employment in an age where an understanding of technology and the Internet are becoming more and more essential.
Whether your children have just started using computers or are experienced surfers, they need your involvement. This section of the network is designed to assist you in your understanding of computers and the Internet so that you can support your children in developing their computer abilities.
The first thing to do is to learn the language of computers and the Internet. You can do this by reading our
Glossary of Terms.
After leaning the language, the next thing is to bring you up to speed on the basics so that your knowledge is at least comparable with that of your children. You can learn the basics by reading our
Internet
Help Guide.
