ATL - Association of Teachers and
Lecturers
ATL: the education
union, is a professional association and trade union representing over 160,000
teachers, lecturers and education support staff in England, Wales and Northern
Ireland. ATL members work in both the maintained and independent sectors, from
early years though to further education, and include all those directly involved
in the delivery of education to pupils and students.
NAHT - National Association of Head Teachers
The National Association of Head Teachers provides a professional service
exclusively for School Leaders, including Heads, Principals, Deputy Heads,
Vice-Principals and Assistant Heads. There are currently over 30,000 members
from all types of schools and colleges in the maintained, non-maintained and
independent sectors of education. It has been providing advice and support for
over a century.
NASUWT - National Association of Schoolmasters and Union of Women Teachers
NASUWT is the only TUC affiliated
teachers' union representing teachers in all parts of the UK. NASUWT has
over 200,000 members in branches all over England, Wales, Scotland and
Northern Ireland and in all sectors from early years to further education.
Our pragmatic approach to helping teachers do what they do best - teach -
has established our reputation as the most effective teachers' union in the
UK.
NUT - National Union of Teachers
The National Union of Teachers is both a professional association and a trade
union. It cares for the children in our schools and for their teachers. The
legal and professional services available to members are second to none.
Membership brings with it access to the widest range of benefits and service.
PAT - Professional Association of Teachers
The Professional
Association of Teachers (PAT) is an independent trade union and professional
association for teachers, head teachers, lecturers; education support staff
(Professionals Allied to Teaching (PAtT)) and, in our Professional Association
of Nursery Nurses (PANN) section, nursery nurses, nannies and other childcarers.
NAASSC is affiliated to PAT/PAtT.
SHA - Secondary Heads Association
SHA is the professional
association for leaders of secondary schools and colleges. Heads, principals,
deputy heads, vice-principals, assistant heads, assistant principals and other
senior post holders are eligible for SHA membership.
UCU
The University and
College Union (UCU) represents more than 120,000 academics, lecturers, trainers,
researchers, managers, administrators, librarians and academic-related staff
working in universities, colleges, adult education and training institutions
throughout the UK. UCU is the largest post-school union in the world. It was
formed on 1st June 2006 by the amalgamation of the two unions AUT and NATFHE.
