Go Education's Whiteboard Initiative goes further

Since its inception, the Interactive Whiteboard Initiative for Schools has
given many a school the ability to introduce Interactive Whiteboard
Technology into its mainstream curriculum teaching.
Conceived by Go Education plc, the Initiative was a major step forward in
putting interactive classroom teaching solutions within reach of schools and
educational establishments. Interactive Whiteboard technology is now
regarded as an essential tool for the digital classroom. Initial trials
showed that this technology greatly enhanced pupils' learning and
performance, and with the initiative, classroom teaching appears to be
poised to enter a whole new era.
The Initiative, which started with the TDS ACTIVboard range of Interactive
Whiteboards, now has a whole new spectrum of teaching tools under its
umbrella. Amongst these is the SMART board range, another leading brand of
Interactive Whiteboards, With the award winning TDS ACTIVboard already
forming part of its range, the Company now boasts two of the finest
Whiteboard brands. Both boards, although using slightly different
technologies, allow teachers to deliver pre-prepared lessons, and to freely
write and draw during lessons. They can do this over the top of, or
alongside, any number of electronic presentations, video clips, or
educational software packages, all of which result in considerable time
saving and greater effectiveness in teaching. Whiteboard technology has been
heralded as significant for schools and pupils alike, and has been welcomed
by key figures in education in the UK. Peter Frost, Chief Executive of the
National Primary Trust, summarises: "Clearly, the whiteboard technology when
used as a tool for learning, has exciting possibilities, and it is
encouraging that this has been recognised by the Government."
Perhaps the most revolutionary product to have been brought into the range
is Genesis Installation System. This unique system has been designed to meet
the needs of schools and colleges where either a mobile teaching package is
required, where it is considered necessary to retain the existing boards, or
where certain architecture (asbestos, high or unstable ceilings) would
prevent permanent installations. Commenting on the Genesis, Dave Vant from
the Downs School said "When I saw the Genesis, I knew I was on a winner. I
had been contemplating adding more whiteboard and projector installations
for my school, but had been bogged down because of the high ceilings."
Further significant extensions to the Company's range have been made in the Digital
Projector arena, which now encompasses all the leading brands, giving
schools the ability to choose projectors with features most suitable to
their environment. Projector prices now start from well under £1000, and
some entry level, yet amazingly powerful projectors retail for under £800.
Al Stubbs, ICT Coordinator and teacher at Winyates School, which has already
adopted Interactive Whiteboard technology, summarises, "The Interactive
Whiteboard allows children to be stimulated in a way not possible before.
Video streaming, interactive packages and sound effects add immeasurably to
all lessons taught with the whiteboard. I have used the interactive
whiteboard in ALL lessons, from art to PE, literacy to PSHE. I frequently
ask myself the question Microsoft pose in their advertising ... Where do I
want my children to go today? With the interactive whiteboard, anywhere in
the world is possible!
Under the Initiative, Go Education provides complete solutions including
laptops, audio systems as well as full installation and training. Nothing
has been compromised, though, and the Company's standard price match policy
and 14-day money back guarantee remain..
