YOUNG NCB
Young NCB is the free membership network open to all children and young people run by the National Children’s Bureau. NCB promotes the participation of children and young people in all matters affecting them and Young NCB is one way in which NCB works with children and young people to make sure their views really count.

As Young NCB members, children and young people can be actively involved in issues that affect and interest them including:

  • Safety and non-violence
  • Schools
  • Drugs
  • Sex and relationships education
  • Media
  • Children’s rights

We encourage Young NCB members to speak out and ensure their opinions and views are heard by other children and young people, professionals and policy makers.

Young NCB activities include:

  • Conferences and talkshops

  • Website and magazine

  • Young People’s Advisory Group
  • Research projects
  • Consultations

Even when it’s not possible for members to be at events or activities in person, www.youngncb.org.uk, the Young NCB website, means everyone can participate  wherever they are. The website has news on all Young NCB activities; Your Shout! – a bulletin board where young people can initiate discussion and comment on issues that matter to them; a diary of events; and features on key issues of interest to young people.

Loudspeaker, the termly magazine, has also been launched. A combination of news, views, opinions, information, ideas and requests, the newsletter will be produced specially for Young NCB members. Other chances to speak out come through members’ involvement in NCB projects and consultations, and the Young People’s Advisory Group which meets to advise, guide and plan Young NCB work and is developing its contribution to the work of NCB in general.

Young NCB gives children and young people the chance to meet new people, make new friends, develop new ideas and make a difference.
