Tired of the heavy administrative burden placed upon you? Want to concentrate on teaching?
Prime Principle is here to help.

Based at the Nottingham Trent University, we develop innovative software packages specifically designed to reduce the heavy burden placed upon teachers. Our first package released in September 2003 called ‘Classroom Monitor’, has been received with great acclaim. Classroom Monitor is an ongoing assessment and end of year report writing package that will revolutionise existing practices in schools across the country.

Classroom Monitor stemmed from academic research conducted at the university, and uses a revolutionary concept: which brings together statutory assessment and end of year report writing into one ongoing process. This effectively improves the use of data collected and saves teachers considerable time (for more details of Classroom Monitor see the information below or visit our website).

We are committed to the continued improvement of teaching software in UK schools. We are striving to develop user-friendly software that will help teachers teach. Future projects include a pupil tracker and report-writer for the foundation stage, a value added assessment tool, and other non-assessment related developments. If you have a particular problem in your school why not let us know – we will try and develop a solution. This direct commitment to the needs of teachers ensures that we are unrivalled in the creation of teacher-focused packages for schools across the UK.
Classroom Monitor is an ongoing assessment and end of year report writing tool that has 3 main benefits:

1  Easy to Use

  • Simple point and click user system – easy for even the most IT shy teacher

  • Step by step assessment process – easy to build up comprehensive pupil records

  • Customise and personalise your assessment and reporting at any time by adding personal comments.

  • Assessment focused on National Curriculum, National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies.

2  Make full use of your data

  • Conduct graphical analysis of assessment – including analysis by class, year, pupil, ethnicity and gender.

  • Automatically create reports for parents or internal reports to pass from teacher to teacher.

  • Simple quick lesson planning and target setting from assessment data

  • School wide monitoring system giving heads/ assessment co-ordinators up to date information on any class/ pupil any time.

3 - No Worries in June!

  • Reports are generated directly from the year’s assessment saving hours of time and ensuring highly personalised reports.

  • Assessment during the year is an efficient step by step process which effectively saves time throughout the year.

  • A statement bank is included, that can be edited by teachers – creating an invaluable shared resource.

  • Reports are generated directly into a fully formatted MS Word document, a few last minute alterations – print and send home

Classroom Monitor will revolutionise your assessment and reporting practices, but don’t take our work for it have a look what others have said about it:
