A.R.R.O.W. is internationally recognised as
a dynamic and cost effective method of multi - sensory learning for
both adults and children alike. A.R.R.O.W. helps dramatically
improve reading, spelling, speech and listening skills. Prof
Greg Brooks,in his Dcsf publication ‘ What
works for pupils with literacy difficulties?
‘ 3rd edition 2007 states about A.R.R.O.W.
“… this amount of progress in 1˝ weeks was
remarkable, if not spectacular.”
A.R.R.O.W. is an acronym for
Aural
- The student listens to
speech through headsets.
Read
-
The student reads text from the screen.
Respond -
The student responds to both the aural and read stimuli.
Oral
- The student
records the speech sample.
Write -
The student uses the recording as a basis for dictation.
Whilst any component may be stressed at any
one time, it is the student’s own voice, the
Self-Voice, which is central to the whole
range of learning processes. Latest research
however shows that the use of the Self-Voice
itself is not enough. The carefully designed
A.R.R.O.W. Self-Voice processes are based
upon 30 years clinical/research experience. These
procedures must be followed according to training
guidelines in order to make the
unprecedented improvements in literacy
skills being recorded by A.R.R.O.W. Tutors
throughout the U.K. A.R.R.O.W. Training
programs ensure that the quality of
performance is maintained.
