From the world famous
snail shaped Nautilus to the new Mini Theatre home cinema package, B&W
produces a diverse range of products. Take the PV-1 subwoofer as
an example. The bubble shaped cabinet is not just a cosmetic; the huge
internal pressures from low bass notes that can cause conventional
square subwoofers to distort are drastically reduced so all you hear
is the deep, clean bass of the soundtrack. This is only one of the
many ideas that have come from B&W's research and development
department based in Steyning on the South Downs. Known within the
industry as the 'University of Sound', B&W's engineers are continuing
to get as close to creating the perfect loudspeaker as possible. With
manufacturing plants in Worthing, West Sussex and Bradford, West
Yorkshire, B&W can also claim to be one of the only 'true' UK
loudspeaker manufacturers. |

The current line-up of B&W
products has been designed to cover a wide range of applications.
Starting with the Prestige range (which includes the 'Nautilus' flagship
loudspeaker), B&W has recently introduced the New 800 Series. Featuring
technology that before now would have seemed impossible at any price, the
range features curves 'tear drop' cabinets, sphere 'head' mid range
enclosures along with some glamorous details within the drive units- the
most exceptional being the inclusion of a 'diamond' tweeter dome. All of
this technology combines to make a range of loudspeakers that are
un-rivalled at any price.

B&W offers two further
ranges of more conventional products with the mid priced 700 Series
and the more entry level 600 Series. Both of these ranges are suited
to 2-Channel audio (HiFi Stereo) as well as Audio Visual (Home
Cinema).
B&W has always been quick to react to trends within both the audio and
the visual markets. Products like the Flat Panel Monitor (FPM) are
ideally suited to being hung either side of a Plasma or LCD monitor;
the Mini Theatre range gives you the option of incorporating B&W sound
and technology into a compact Home Cinema System. |

In addition, B&W offers a
collection of flush mount In-wall/In-ceiling products, for either home or
commercial use. These are ideal if the space does not offer anywhere to
put conventional speakers.
Continuing with products
suited for all applications, B&W also offer a further range of leisure
monitors. These include the LM-1 and VM-1 (Versatile Monitor). Both of
these products can be used either in the home or for much larger
installations such as restaurant, bars, halls, etc and have been used on a
battle ship- HMS Devonshire.

With the
ever-increasing demand for more discrete products, B&W have recently
launched Mini Theatre. Home cinema systems use 5 speakers and a
subwoofer to create a surround sound system ideal for replaying film
sound tracks. Mini Theatre is so called due to its small size and
discrete appearance. Utilising the M-1 satellite speaker within each
system, Mini Theatre has three-package dependant on the choice of
subwoofer. |

Finally, there are outdoor
Weather Monitors comprising three models, the WM-2, 4 and 6. They have
been specifically designed so that can be left outside day and night, all
year round.
Whether being used as Studio Monitors at Abbey Road and Skywalker Ranch or
recreating that experience in a domestic environment, B&W offers a better
listening experience suited to all uses.
