Started in 1964 Brook - is still the only
national voluntary sector provider of free and confidential sexual
health advice and services specifically for young people under 25.
Brook is a charity serving over 200,000 young people each year across
the UK.
Brook offers a range services dedicated to young people and professional
who work with them.
Services for young people:
• Brook centres offering free sexual health, checks advice and
contraception in:

online, text and phone helpline for under 25 providing
information support and signposting on sexual health,
pregnancy, abortion and relationships.
• Staff visiting local communities, education institutes and

Services for professionals:
We produce resources to support professionals and for professionals
working with young people. Publications include booklets, teaching
guides, journals and leaflets covering aspects on sexual health,
pregnancy, STI and more, with over 50 publications.
Brook launches new publications
Our newest additions to our range include
• a booklet ‘emergency contraception’
• a poster ‘Believe it or not…’ which reminds young women of the ease of
getting pregnant immediately after having a baby and encourages
practitioners in contact with them, to discuss an effective method of
contraception.

strictly confidential service.

Brook’s first ever Awards Dinner and
Conference
In February 2008 Brook’s first-ever awards dinner followed by a
conference- where we’ll be recognising and celebrating professionals’
achievements in their work.
Nominate admirable people and allow Brook and other organization in the
field of sexual health to acknowledge their achievements. Then
participate in the ‘Good sex, safe sex - promoting safety, pleasure,
respect and responsibility’ conference discussing innovative ways of
reaching young people with positive messages about enjoying sex safely,
with stimulating guest speakers including Rebecca French, Senior
Research Fellow at UCL’s Centre for Sexual Health & HIV Research and Sam
Roddick who runs Cocode Mer, which is reviving the tradition of the
