ABOUT US
Coomber Electronic Equipment Limited is a family run business based in
Worcester. Originally started in the 1930's by F.W. Coomber, it is a
thriving British manufacturer, run by the founder's grandchildren,
Edward and James.
As an audio manufacturer for the UK education market, our company has
grown because of our determination to develop dedicated, robust and
portable equipment specifically designed for school use.
Even today, when inferior domestic-type products abound, the Coomber
name is a bench mark by which other audio equipment is measured. It is
not uncommon for our products to last many years, making them a sound
investment. Our repair department can service and repair equipment many
years old and, because of the manufacturing materials we use, most of
our equipment can be recycled economically. Coomber is a member of BESA
(the British Educational Suppliers Association), an organisation
dedicated to providing the highest quality of goods and services for UK
schools.
OUR EQUIPMENT
| The chances are, our
equipment is already to be found in your school - possibly years
old, and most certainly used every day. The quality of sound
often exceeds expectation and the controls are simple to use.
Some of our equipment may appear quite old-fashioned; but these
theft deterrent designs often mean that its portability is
overlooked during a break-in. Our classroom audio all includes
six headphone sockets for group listening, long mains cables,
cable winder hooks for convenience and class facing
loudspeakers. Our PA systems and language labs are fully
portable - allowing teachers to use the equipment anywhere.

CD
RECORDING
Our 'Real Time' CD Recorders have been fully designed and
manufactured at our factory in Worcester. They are unique; the
first developed to record from microphone direct to CD. They
have also been created specifically for schools - so of course
they include powerful classroom speakers, six headphone sockets
and can be used as an ordinary CD player as well. Ideal for
classroom use!

3320 CD PLAYER
The
3320 CD Player is our latest model. At half the weight and size of its
predecessor it has a modern ergonomic design that is functional and
powerful. Robustly built from recyclable ABS and aluminium, it is
attractive and easy to use. Features include tone adjustment, balance
control and a cue-review function allowing users to move backwards and
forwards through a track to find an exact location. This is the first in
a range of new models designed especially for schools use. |

PORTABLE PA
Some portable PA equipment really isn't that
portable. Powerful amps and big speakers in heavy wooden cabinets may be
great at a rock show, but for a teacher, weighed down with books and
project work, the burden can be too much. Wheels are added to some
portable PA'S, fine until you reach the staircase! Coomber portable PA
systems really are portable, using weight saving materials and carefully
matched amplifier/speaker combinations. They are easy to carry.

Some models incorporate CD or cassette mechanisms, rechargeable
batteries and even radio mic receivers. |

HALL SOUND
Our
hall equipment is designed with hall facing controls and speakers so
that the equipment can be pushed right against the wall for safety.
Stereo speakers give added clarity and punchy sound output that is ideal
for dance and drama, music or P.E. and aerobics. Unlike larger
systems and more complex systems, our PA models are portable,
simple to use and can be locked away for security. |
