What do we do?
Direct Lenses supply all the leading brands of disposable lenses including
Johnson and Johnson, Baush & Lomb and Ciba. These are offered at up to
50% less than those found in the High Street. The added convenience of
home or workplace delivery and flexible ordering means that we can offer
an attractive alternative to the conventional optician-based method of
supply.
Although commonplace in the United States, the supply of contact lenses
directly to the public in the UK is a relatively new phenomenon. During
1997 Direct Lenses became the first company to successfully and legally
supply UK lens wearers by mail order.
We were also the first UK outlet to offer on-line secure ordering (in
February 1999).
Since then, many thousands of contact lens wearers have chosen to buy
direct; many of our customers have ordered over a dozen times and we find
word of mouth recommendation has become commonplace. Customers can elect
to have automatic
re-supply but there is no obligation to order at set intervals and no
confusing discounts or direct debit schemes to commit to.
Easy ordering and rapid dispatch
Customers can order by post, fax or through our web site www.directlenses.com
and
re-orders can be made by any of these methods and also by phone or
e-mail.
UK orders are sent by first class post (included in the price) and lenses
can also be sent anywhere in the world (overseas carriage is charged at
cost). As well as many European customers we have customers as far a field
as Florida, Beirut and even Hong Kong.
We also supply business conceige services operating in several leading
city institutions.
We pride ourselves on providing rapid order dispatch (normally within
24-48hrs) and aim to answer all queries from any source within the same
working day.
Healthy Eyes
Direct Lenses helped set the standards for safe and ethical supply- the
contact lens patient remains under the care of their optician at all times
and we will only supply upon presentation of a copy written prescription
dated within the previous twelve months. Patients can obtain this either
at the time of their next check up or on demand from their optician.
No swapping of brands or lens types is allowed unless the patient has a successful
trial and can provide an updated prescription for the new choice of
lens.
Similarly, customers who have not yet tried lenses are directed to their
optician who will assess their suitability to wear them and then fit a
trial pair. After successfully wearing lenses for three months we will
then supply them from that point.
Every order is dispatched with a comprehensive healthy lens wear
leaflet.
Although we cannot offer advice on suitability to wear and the relative
merits of brands any other technical or optical questions are also
promptly answered by our qualified opticians.
In short
For busy people who wish to make significant savings and have their lenses
delivered when and where they want Direct Lenses has the solution.
