WHO ARE DISCOVERY INITIATIVES?

Discovery Initiatives was founded in 1997, as a nature travel company dedicated to supporting nature, wildlife and conservation through responsible wildlife tourism. As International recognised and award winning pioneers in this field, over the last 9 years, we have set up and run hundreds of small group tours, safaris and expeditions, led by experts in their field to some of the world’s greatest wildernesses across the globe, giving privileged insight and access to areas and expertise unavailable to conventional tourism and groups.

Our modus operandi is quite unique. In association and cooperation with most of the leading wildlife and conservation agencies in the world and their local researchers and experts, from leading International agencies like WWF, The Eden Project, Dian Fosse Gorilla Fund International, The Jane Goodall Institute and the Wildlife Conservation Society in New York, to smaller regional agencies and initiatives like IRDNC in Namibia and NORCA in Norway, we have been able to give small groups both fascinating behind the scenes insight, alongside real local expertise, into nature, wildlife and conservation, but also, where required, active participation in a host of conservation efforts.

Finally your trip aims to support the very people that is your privilege to be hosted by and wildlife that you experience, actively encouraging conservation and awareness of the environment in a way that is not possible with conventional and more mainstream tourism and operators.
