The DJ Academy has been operating for 3 and a
half years and is currently the largest DJ training organisation in the UK
with operations in Bristol, Birmingham, Worcester, Cardiff, Derby, Reading
and Oxford. We run 10 week part time DJ courses in all of the above cities
whilst also providing one to one training and intensive day/week DJ’ing
courses in Worcester.
The DJ Academy prides itself on being a dynamic and forward thinking
organization and aside from the 10 week course the company also delivers
youth workshops to local communities in the above areas. These are
designed to give young people an introduction to the world of music,
DJ’ing and other youth culture activities such as Grafitti Art.
Our participation in education has been gradually growing over the last 3
years and the organisation now has extensive experience of working within
the youth and education sector. Past clients have included, Alderbrook
School and Arts College, The Learning and Skills Council, Luton Borough
Council, Worcestershire City Council, Connexions.
The sessions are flexible and can be delivered in most venues. All we need
are tables, a power source and a group of enthusiastic young people. No
experience is necessary, and all participants will be given the chance to
access hands on activity with state of the art equipment, building
confidence and self esteem while learning new skills.
Music captivates and fires the imagination and creativity of young people
in a way that few other activities can. By bringing the DJ Academy into
your school, youth or community centre young people can experience the
excitement and accomplishment of expressing themselves through music. We
aim to prove that DJ-ing is not just for the select few but with hard
work, commitment and a “can do” attitude individuals can reach their full
potential.
DJ-ing as an art form is now as popular as playing a musical instrument
itself and can be an outlet for creative expression for young people who
are not interested in learning to play a traditional instrument. DJ
workshops can also add a multicultural “street appeal” to any school
syllabus or extra curricular activity.
The DJ Academy will also provide advice and guidance to individuals or
groups interested in pursuing the subject further and who want to get into
music as a career. These individuals would be able to attend the full 10
week program at specially reduced rates. For further details on this
