Finding
the Answer!
Want to know how to impress that girl/boy in your class who you really
like? How you can become a faster runner? Or where you can get hold of a
certain piece of fitness equipment or even a giant chess set? OK, so maybe
you won’t find the answer to the first question, but the answers to the
other questions can be found on a website called Exercise, Fitness &
Leisure (www.exercise.co.uk).
It’s the site for everyone, not just those who are good at sport.
CAUTION: Boffins at work
EFL like to think that their boffins are the brainiest in their
field. Ask them anything you like about exercise, fitness or leisure - if
they don’t know the answer (highly unlikely, but anything’s possible),
then they will find out for you. For free! Here are some examples of
questions you could ask:
-
I’m going to be the next David Beckham - where can I get professional
football coaching?
-
I want to start cycling to school - what size bike do I need?
-
Will getting fitter help me become a better dancer?
-
I need something to help me train or to get fitter what should I use?

The Information Centre
You may not need to ask the boffins. The answer to your
question could already be somewhere in the Information Centre on the site,
which has over 200 pages of information and advice for all ages. As well
as fitness and health tips, there are fascinating facts and even
mouth-watering recipes. There is a rumour that EFL
is currently working on a section that only young people will be allowed
to read, which is definitely worth looking out for. And while you’re at
the site, you won’t be able to resist a visit to the Fun & Games
section, where you can have a go at a quiz, a picture puzzle, or even at
winning a prize in a competition. Don’t even think about asking the
boffins to answer the competition questions though.
Make your mates jealous
The products for sale on EFL
include loads of stuff, not just exercise equipment, which would make your
mates jealous, such as football or air-hockey tables, goals and nets,
snooker and pool tables, short tennis, Eurohoc sets, and trampolines...
New products are regularly added, and the nice people at EFL
will even do their best to obtain anything you want that they
don’t stock. So what are you waiting for? Type in www.exercise.co.uk
right now!
PS. Teachers are also welcome to visit and buy stuff so they can make
their mates jealous too.
