Digital Cameras?
Digital Cameras use a
CCD (a light sensitive chip) to capture images which are then stored as
files in either the cameras internal memory or on to a removable storage
flash card. This flash card comes in many forms and is based around static
memory (no moving parts). Generally speaking digital cameras offer a similar
level of automation or control to conventional cameras. Cameras are labelled
in order of resolution (mega pixels) -- the higher generally means the
better!

on the PC. Then cutting, cropping, titling, printing can take place at
your own leisure. .

electronic information and can be downloaded to the PC via many methods. Card
reader/writers are the most effective form of transfer. All high
street printers will now accept images in the form of electronic files
to be printed onto photo paper. With digital you don't have to print all
your pictures you can simply archive images on to your hard drive or burn
on to a CD or DVD. .

Digital cameras are capable
of superb results (especially the latest 8 megapixel and above cameras)
and match the quality if not better most compact cameras. You would be
hard pushed to tell the difference in the quality of two images taken from
both forms. .

modern PC with modest hard-drive and USB
port is all you need to download images from your camera. All software and
drivers for your camera are included with your purchase.
