Gamestation was an
independently owned company until October 2002, when it was acquired by
Blockbuster UK.
Fellow graduates of York University, Stephen Hall and Julian Gladwin
founded Gamestation in 1993, with the aid of a £3,000 grant from the PYBT.
They started trading from a small shop in York in September 1993,
relocating to a larger and better located site after a few months.
Their second outlet was opened in Leeds two years later followed by stores
in Bradford and Hull. Stores have opened steadily around the country since
then, and now range from Plymouth to Newcastle, and Swansea to Ipswich.
Administration was initially carried out from store, but a dedicated Head
Office and Warehouse was soon required, together with staff to support the
stores.
Gamestation is the fastest growing specialist video games retailer in the
UK. Currently trading from 68 outlets with a mail order service and
interactive website (soon to be updated with our new brand), we have
further outlets planned to open across the uk this year. Gamestation has
the largest selection of new and pre-owned games available in the uk.
Everything from megadrive to the latest PS2 titles. Trading is our
speciality, our service that enables customers to
trade-in their games.
Trade-in your old games, consoles or dvds for discounts on anything else
instore or exchange them for cash....
