Get Kids Going! is a national charity which gives disabled children and youngsters, up to the age of 26yrs, the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport. We provide them with specially built sports' wheelchairs so they can play; rugby, basketball, marathons, tennis, athletics, mountain skiing and many more sports. Get Kids Going! also helps and encourages British disabled children to compete by giving them sports grants for; training, travel to sports events, sports physiotherapy and the design and development of sports wheelchairs.

In addition, Get Kids Going! provides personalised, lightweight, sports wheelchairs for children to use every day: at school, at home and to introduce them to sport. We believe that all disabled children should receive the right equipment to get them going!

We support children and youngsters with all disabilities. We also make sure that any equipment which out grown is recycled to other children, so our supporters, valuable donations are never wasted.

The cost of a sports wheelchair is about £3,000. A lightweight manual wheelchair is around £2,000. Both are designed individually and perform.. just like a Formula 1 Racing Car!

Almost everyone who supports Get Kids Going! gets a marvellous sense of achievement and satisfaction. They see that even the smallest donation makes an amazing difference to a disabled child's life. Get Kids Going! gives disabled children the chance of a life time, freedom and many wonderful opportunities that you and I take for granted. Opportunities they may never have without you and the help of Get Kids Going! No other charity in the UK focuses on helping disabled children and young people with sport in the same way.

Over 200,000 disabled children and young people in the country need the help of Get Kids Going!

In 2003 Get Kids Going! is launching a new initiative through schools called 'Run For Kids' with the aim of getting all kids, both able bodied and disabled, running! It will focus on how running improves a child's well-being including their personal, social and health education along with raising much needed donations to enable more and more disabled youngsters to play and participate in sport. We will be sending an information pack to all schools who would like to organise their own 'Run For Kids' at their school.
