Green Volunteers, the Worldwide Information Network to Conservation, Humanitarian and Archaeological Voluntary Work.

A comprehensive tool for students and families, for educators and for University Career or Placement centres to expose everyone to the widest possible choice to plan a period of volunteering abroad for a summer vacation, for a gap year or to gain professional or research experience.

Who we are!
Green Volunteers is a very efficient tool to help find hundreds of Volunteering projects all over the world, many at no or low cost.

What sort of projects you can find through Green Volunteers?
Green Volunteers receives constant calls from projects needing volunteers from all over the world. In particular for Conservation Volunteering, Green Volunteers is the only worldwide information network. Projects are long or short term, for students, researchers, professionals or retired people, with or without experience. They are ideal for a vacation, a gap year or a leave of absence. You can volunteer for 2 weeks, 2 months or even 2 years.

Wildlife Conservation projects, are all over the world (also in the UK) and encompass a variety of species and habitats. There are also ideal projects for students looking for a thesis or research topics. Many of which are National Parks and protected areas, dealing with marine or terrestrial species year round, literally in every corner of the World.

Humanitarian projects, are in developing countries and Eastern Europe. There are a variety of projects practically in every Cooperation and Development field: from agriculture to health, from urban development to refugee aid, from hunger relief to small enterprise development. There are projects open to people of any age, with a variety of experiences: from students to skill workers, from electricians to computer experts or nurses, from agronomists to medical doctors. Projects can last from3-4 weeks to several years. Many positions for professionally qualified people are paid. For students at their first International Cooperation Experience many work camp opportunities are listed.

Archaeological and Heritage projects in the UK, Europe and all over the World concerning practically every historical era, from the Romans, to the Maya or to Industrial Archaeology. Projects are usually short term for beginning volunteers.

We make a point of selecting low cost or no cost projects. We are perfectly aware of the high costs that many organisations ask to volunteers. We therefore do our best, without excluding major organisations, to select no or low cost affordable projects, to allow everyone, particularly low income students, to volunteer worldwide.

The main instruments are the 3 Guides that Green Volunteers publishes:

Green Volunteers: the World Guide to Voluntary Work in Nature Conservation.
World Volunteers: the World Guide to Humanitarian and Development Volunteering.
Archaeo-volunteers: the World Guide to Archaeological and Heritage Volunteering.

The guides cost £ 12 each, £ 20 for 2 and £ 28 for all 3 (all prices incl. P&P) and ARE A ONE TIME PURCHASE, as updates are available at no cost on the internet.

Green Volunteers - the World's No. 1 Source of Conservation Volunteering Opportunities, features also a free (for those who purchase the guide) non expiring e-mail newsletter listing one new project every week.
