The flexible security
service of choice
Patrol & Response
Today businesses face more pressures than ever before to ensure a healthy
work-life balance is achieved, in addition to operating in a climate of
rising minimum wage rates and increased employment overheads. These
factors, coupled with an individual responsibility to reduce outside
threats to their business, are leading businesses to reassess their
security needs.
At G4S Security Services (UK) our aim is to provide our customers with a
cost efficient security solution tailored to their individual needs.
Alternative security
solutions
At G4S we have a wealth of experience in providing alternative security
solutions in situations which may have previously required dedicated
manned security.
Our market leading mobile security service - Patrol & Response - comprises
three main elements:
|

|
Our services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on a local
basis throughout the UK. All services are carried out by our highly
trained, licensed uniformed Patrol & Response officers who are coordinated
by a dedicated national control centre.
Mobile patrol service
Our mobile patrol service can be customised to meet individual
requirements and, because the cost is shared by a number of customers in
each patrol area, it offers an affordable and effective alternative to a
full time security presence.
A Patrol & Response officer will visit premises outside of normal hours,
and carry out security inspections in line with the customer’s
instructions, which can also include a variety of good housekeeping tasks
aimed at preventing or reducing loss.
|
Whilst checking the exterior perimeter the officer will normally check all
ground floor doors and windows to ensure no suspicious activity is
apparent. They are also trained to identify Health & Safety risks in
addition to many issues that may prove problematic if not dealt with.
Inside premises such as factories or warehouses our officer will, if
required, carry out an internal foot patrol to secure the building,
managing potential risks as appropriate. |

|
Lock/unlock service
Today’s flexible working conditions may mean that employees do not want
the responsibility of securing or opening their premises. Our lock/unlock
service takes ownership of such duties at the beginning and end of the
day, giving the peace of mind that a professional officer is charged with
this responsibility. The service is mainly offered to car parks, offices
and factories.
Depending on flexibility we can offer a range of lock/unlock options
within a specific time frame, ranging from an agreed time every day to a
more moveable slot.
Key holder and response
service
It’s 03:00 and you’re woken and told that an alarm has activated at your
premises:
Do you want your staff disturbed at home?
Are they able to respond safely and quickly?
Have you addressed Health & Safety issues in relation to alarm response?
With G4S Security Services (UK)’s key holder and response service, these
are exactly the types of concern our customers don’t have to worry about.
This service offers a national network of Patrol & Response officers who
are vetted, trained and always available to respond to the following types
of incident:
|

|
Response to an intruder alarm as the key holder – our officer will act
as a filter, assess the situation, and deal with any immediate issues.
Customers may choose not to be disturbed unless there has been a serious
incident which could affect the function of the business the following day.
Response to an intruder alarm as the escort – our officer will meet the
customer key holder outside the premises and carry out an escort, ensuring
their safety at all times.
Response to remote monitored CCTV – where an intruder has been detected,
the CCTV operator has the option of requesting G4S to the site to address
the situation.
Response to a fire alarm activation – after the fire brigade has
attended the scene, our officer will take ownership and secure the
building.
Simply give us the keys and alarm codes, both of which will be held under
strictly secure conditions, and register G4S as a principal key holder.
When an alarm activates we will dispatch an officer with the keys to
investigate the cause, liaise with the police and alarm company, arrange
for the alarm to be reset, and leave a report of the incident.
Modern times call for modern
technology
At G4S we have invested in the latest technology to ensure all of our
Patrol & Response customers receive a modern, efficient, reliable and
professional range of services.
Liveried vehicles
We provide an excellent fleet of well-equipped vehicles, all of which are
satellite tracked via the control centre enabling us to keep an eye on the
whereabouts of our officers. Vehicles are equipped with satellite
navigation to show the quickest route to the alarm activation and ensure
the destination is reached without complication. The vehicles also have
the capability to store keys in a foolproof auditable system.
Electronic clocking mediums
An electronic clocking medium enables the officer attending a site to
accurately record the time, duration and location of the foot patrol on
site.
PDAs
These useful handheld devices allow quick, accurate instructions - both
emergency and routine - and vital information to be sent to officers from
the control centre. In addition to this they facilitate Health & Safety
and welfare checks, and are also used to generate reports on any issues
detected by the officer.
|
One clear communication
channel-
Through our dedicated Patrol & Response control centre, we are able to
provide a source of information, advice and assistance, as well as a
central point of contact for our customers, employees and Alarm Receiving
Centres (ARCs). The control centre is managed by experts with specific
knowledge and training, ensuring a dedicated focus on our customers’ and
officers’ needs. |

|
Taking responsibility
seriously
All G4S Patrol & Response officers hold a Security Industry Authority (SIA)
licence and possess the maturity and personality to work without direct
supervision and be effective in an emergency. The nature of the role means
that officers are out on the road so they are supervised in a number of
other ways, including via two-way PDA instruction from the control centre,
by mobile supervisors who are also on the road and via audits where
managers check the keys held in the vehicle.
Making your security our
business
Our flexible, market leading approach to security solutions - coupled with
our vast industry experience – gives us the ability to also provide Patrol
& Response services to an extensive portfolio of blue chip clients on a
pan UK basis. Local or national, all our customers receive the same
excellent service, benefiting from established systems and processes that
match their geographical security needs.
