Guitartek Ltd was founded in 2003 by its two Directors, Martin Candler and Gus Oliveira. Martin comes from an IT background and ran a Computer Support Company for many years both building and supporting machines.He was frequently asked to build Servers, Workstation and dedicated Music and Video PC's.

In 2003 he met a chap who wanted a Music PC built to his specifications his name was Gus!Gus' background is firmly in Music - originally from Brazil (he has been in the UK over 10 years now) he studied at a local Music College and then went to work in the Music Industry for a couple of very large Retailers. He became a bit let-down by their somewhat arrogant and un-helpful attitudes and decided that he could provide a better service and a more professional attitude if he did it himself - after talking with Martin in 2003 Guitartek was born!

What do you sell?
Guitartek has a wide range of products, we sell everything from Guitars, Amps and Percussion equipment to Music PC’s with Hardware and Software – so the chances are if you need it we can get it! To give you an idea of the range of products that are available through Guitartek, we have accessories from strings, synthesizers, amps, microphones, FX/Pedals, cables, drum heads, ADAT, DAT, lighting, headphones to computer hardware. We also have a full range of products including various acoustics, folk instruments, Bass, Brass and Woodwind instruments, drum kits, DJ equipment, harmonicas, turntables, Stratocasters and various percussions instruments.

Who do you sell to?
Today we sell through all channels - internet, mail order, education and retail, and we are currently looking at premises to setup our next two shops!

• Free Master Classes on Hardware and Software for Schools and Colleges to enable them to get the most out of the equipment they have purchased.

• Live Music Events and 'Battle of the Bands' at locally run Pubs and Clubs - free entry for everyone along with Prizes and Freebies to give out to the winning Bands and audience.

• Organisation of Sponsorship for Music Schools\Colleges.

• NEW!! - Special Guest Musicians – we recently arranged a special Drum Master Class for fans of the Metal band ‘ CRADLE OF FILTH’ with Adrian Erlandson one awesome drummer and thoroughly nice bloke!

• ‘The Music Edge’ program in collaboration with NAMM – this is an after school music club run for children aged 13-19 to help them get a head start in the industry - not just Lesson in Playing their instrument, but also skills such as band management, personal skills (there is more than one voice in a band!) and how to set themselves up for recording and auditions.

• A ‘Junior’ - ‘Music Edge’ program for younger children – this is aimed at children 12 and under who have either never played or need a group with which they can ‘Jam’ along. Playing an instrument is hard to start with and needs practice – hopefully we can help this practice become fun and improve the Childs concentration span and perseverance along with their manual dexterity and coordination – without them even knowing it!

• NEW For 2006 - We are currently working with Connexions Sussex to try and establish a similar scheme for Children who are having difficulties at school….more on this once negotiations are complete.
   

Location
Guitartek is based in Worthing, West Sussex and also has a Recording Studio and currently three Rehearsal Rooms, at another location (also in Worthing) - both of these are available for hire at preferential rates throughout the day for anyone wishing to use them. We have an Engineer available to run the Studio when recording is required.
