HPI RACING would like to welcome you to the world of R/C cars.

What are R/C cars? Well, the easy answer is that they are radio controlled racing cars that respond precisely to your command. The more complete answer is that they can be a great addition to your lifestyle. R/C car racing teaches valuable mechanical and electrical skills, promotes family teamwork and encourages owners to test their competitive spirit. Whether you are just having fun in your driveway or racing at the HPI World Championships, radio controlled car racing is a great hobby.

Getting Started in Radio Control...

HPI produce high quality, high performance radio control cars. These cars are different from those that you would see in 'toy stores' for example. These come in 2 types, as a 'Kit' which you build, or as a pre-assembled kit that we call Ready-to-Run (RTR) cars which can be ready to run in as little as a few minutes from opening the box…

On-road or Off-road kits - It's your choice?

HPI produce both On-road and Off-road kits so your decision might relate to where you want to use the cars. If you want to race on a smooth tarmac RC Race Track and run Touring / Le Mans type bodyshells - then maybe an On-road car is for you. Maybe you and your friends want to race over the roughest terrain and up and down the streets and fields, if so you'd be better off with an Off-road or Rally type car - Basically, it's up to you to decide!!

Should I get a "Nitro" or "Electric" kit?

Well both are huge fun in their own way, and you really can't go wrong with either, so again it's up to you.

Electric kits are generally easier to assemble and maintain than Nitro's, they are clean and nearly silent so you won't upset your neighbours and you can run them anywhere, indoors and out.

Nitro cars however can be raced for as long as you want - which is a huge reason for the growth in popularity of Nitro cars. While most electric car must use several battery packs to achieve run times of 30 to 60 minutes, all the Nitro owner needs to do is fill up the fuel tank every 5 to 10 minutes. Nitro is a little messy, but that's a small price to pay for the fun and excitement of running a Nitro R/C car.

So where can I get a HPI Kit from?

There are hundreds of Model Shops in the UK that sell HPI Products.
Check out the Web Site for details of your local Shop - www.hpi-europe.com

The Staff here at HPI Racing hope that this information has helped you decide what type of R/C car will interest you the most. No matter what HPI Car or Truck you choose, remember the number one "Golden Rule of R/C": HAVE FUN!
