Intrepid Travel is one of the world’s largest small group adventure travel operators, running over 300 different itineraries on a weekly basis throughout 6 continents. Our attitude to travel is responsible, respectful and down to earth. Darrell Wade, Intrepid's co-founder and CEO, is proud of the company he helped create. "Geoff and I started Intrepid in 1989 with a passion to get travellers off the beaten track. We wanted to develop a style of travel that was all together different, where as travellers we became a part of country - and not just tourists looking in. We wanted to have fun, meet people, learn things, explore, and do stuff we could never do at home. We wanted to travel by anything and everything, and stay anywhere and everywhere! We wanted to be intrepid.”
 

Fourteen years and thousands of travellers later we know this philosophy is a winner! Over the years, they have both had families, and were confronted with the question - can you travel with children in the Intrepid way? “Yes you can!’ says Darrell, ‘we have both done lots of trips with our kids so we decided to put our experiences to work develop a range of Family Adventures.”

Intrepid’s Family Adventures, covering in China, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Egypt, Italy, Peru, Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands, are both fun and educational, offering the whole family an opportunity to learn more about the world and creating great family memories built on real life experiences.
