Who are we ?
Long established in Leeds, LHF was formerly known as Leeds Hospital
Fund.

Now part of the
Simplyhealth Group, LHF has been looking after the health and
well-being of people across Yorkshire for 120 years.
LHF offers an affordable range of healthplans that provide an easy
solution to help budget for ever-increasing healthcare costs. Its
cost effective healthplans help people take control of their basic
healthcare needs and allow them to claim back some or all of the
cost of the treatment up to their annual limits.
As a mutual, LHF has no shareholders and exists solely for the
benefit of its members. LHF makes regular donations to local

What do we do?
For just a few pence per day, LHF provides an affordable way for
individuals and families to help look after their health and well-being.
Healthplans are fast becoming an important part of daily life. With
everyday healthcare becoming less freely available on the NHS,
individuals and families are taking more direct responsibility for
their basic healthcare needs – and a healthplan from LHF can help
with these costs.
A healthplan provides cash towards a wide range of everyday
healthcare treatments – but not in the same way as private medical
insurance.

What do we provide?

Quite simply, LHF takes the pain out of everyday health care costs
with a product that is affordable, easy to understand and use. Most
importantly, it has no hidden catches.
In general the member chooses what monthly premium they will pay,
and the higher the premium, the higher the benefit payments.
Members are then entitled to claim money towards the cost of a
range of treatments including a check-up or filling at the dentist,
eye-test at the optician or a visit to the physiotherapist as well
as a wide range of complimentary therapies including acupuncture,
homeopathy, reflexology and more.
Benefits are relevant, extensive and cover extends to health
screening, maternity and paternity payments and specialist
consultation fees.
Three levels of cover are offered, starting from as little as £3.45
per week.

What is our
new dental product all about?
Our new dental plan is different to traditional healthplan products, it
has been specifically designed following feedback from our members on
how they have been affected by the current dental crisis.
The new LHF Dental Plan is a high value, affordable product that makes
it easy for individuals and families to take the pain out of a visit to
the dentist. It helps cover the cost of dental bills whether this takes
place at an NHS or private practice.

We are all well aware
of the current crisis within NHS dentistry that continues to
dominate the headlines. There is a nationwide shortage of dentists
and an ongoing decline in availability of free immediate treatment.
Recent reports have highlighted that Yorkshire is one of the areas
that has been worst hit. A Which? survey conducted during 2007 found
only 15% of NHS dental surgeries were accepting new patients.
From just £7.35 per person per month, the LHF Dental Plan pays money
towards a variety of dental benefits including check-ups,
hygienist visits, x-rays, crowns, white fillings and bridges as well
as emergency treatment and accident cover.

There are three levels of
cover to choose from. Level 1 starts from just £7.35 per month and
offers adults up to £200 towards dental treatments and up to £10,000
towards accident cover, both are subject to a three-month qualifying
period.
Members are also entitled to a £4,000 one off payment if diagnosed with
mouth cancer, subject to a six-month qualifying period.
The plan offers money towards the cost of dental benefits that can be
used time and time
again up to annual limits and will provide a cost
effective solution that individuals and families can use and value.
All dependent children - under the age of 18, residing at the same
address, can also be covered from just an extra £1 per month!
