| Millennium Au Pairs &
Nannies was established in early 1999 by Jackie Gallacher, an
international journalist and mother of three. Having used au pairs
herself for many years, she decided that there was plenty of room for
raising the standard of service offered by existing agencies.
Millennium Nannies has since evolved as a natural extension of the au
pair business to cater for babies and younger children who need a more
formally qualified carer.
Millennium Au Pairs offers candidates from all over Europe, including
Sweden, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary,
Poland, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania and the Baltic states. Every au
pair is screened by our overseas partners and well briefed on what
being an au pair involves. Au pairs live in and must have their own
room as well as full board. The host family pays them weekly pocket
money in the range of £50-80, depending on working hours and location.
Working hours are typically 25 per week for an East European or visa
national although other nationalities can work up to 35 hours per week
if required. |

Au pairs will help
with light housework and childrens’ meals and the care of children outside
of school hours. Au pairs pay for their own travel to and from the UK and
normally attend language classes for 4-6 hours per week which they also
pay for themselves. Au pairs are only permitted sole charge of children
over the age of 3 years and are the perfect alternative to a childminder
for children who attend school or nursery. Cared for in their home
environment after school, they can relax, play, watch tv and get on with
homework, baths and tea without having to wait to be collected by a
working parent from an external carer often until 6pm or later.

Millennium Nannies offers
live in or daily nannies and mother’s helps from native English speaking
countries and the UK. From overseas, we particularly specialise in
Australasian and South African nationals who are well loved by many
families. All our applicants are personally interviewed and reference and
police-checked. Our nannies welcome our careful matching and vetting
process which means they are only offered interviews for the most
suitable positions. Families can also rest-assured that they will only be
offered face to face meetings with well matched and properly screened
candidates.

Millennium Nannies offers
fully qualified nannies with an NNEB or equivalent overseas qualification.
For less demanding positions we also offer a Mother’s Help alternative.
These are individuals of all ages with a significant amount of proven
childcare experience working in sole charge situations or nurseries. They
do not possess a formal qualification but have plenty of practical
experience backed up by good references.

Millenniun Au Pairs &
Nannies currently specialises in placing childcarers in central London,
greater London, the home counties and the south and southeast of England.
However we are growing and expanding our services and are happy to take
enquiries from all over the UK.
