Timetabling the School Curriculum
www.monitortimetabling.com
MONITOR
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES provides advice to secondary schools on the most
effective way to realise their curricular aims through a cost effective
timetable.
Its main
activity is the provision of one and two day courses on the planning and
construction of secondary school timetables at venues through out England
& Wales. The one day course deals with the detailed planning and costing
of curriculum models while the second day goes on to simulate the
construction of the timetable for a hypothetical school. The courses are
practical in nature being based on the presenter’s experience of
timetabling a large secondary school. The courses are not dependent on any
medium but deal with the general principles that should be followed
whatever the means of delivery. Although they are not computer based,
teachers wishing to use computer packages are advised to attend our
courses before embarking on software training.
These courses are aimed at:
-
new timetablers
looking for induction into the process.
-
experienced timetablers
looking for reassurance and new ideas.
-
senior managers
wanting to understand issues in timetabling.
-
aspiring managers looking for career development.
Evaluation returns from course members show overwhelming satisfaction.
Details of these courses, the current programme and unsolicited comments
from course members can be found on the website.
These
courses can also be delivered as in-school courses for individual schools
or groups of schools.
MONITOR
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES can also help schools construct their own timetables.
MONITOR
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES has been delivering this service since 1993 and has
dealt with teachers from half the schools in England & Wales many of which
see MONITOR EDUCATIONAL SERVICES as their first choice of such training
whether for induction of a timetabling manager or career development.
MONITOR
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES is the trading name for David Griffiths, an
educational consultant, who delivers the services. He taught for 30 years
in secondary schools, in the UK and abroad, during which time he had over
10 years’ experience of constructing timetables. Since then he has had a
further 15 years of delivering training in timetable techniques.
