POD
Desking Multi functional, Instant Desk
or Computer Suite
|
Any space can be
converted to include ICT facilities, as this modular unit can be
easily transferred between rooms, with no need for re-modelling the
existing classroom environments. This alone eases the pressure on
ever decreasing budgets
The innovative design of the pod desks means it can be
wheeled to any area and function within moments, and Only
Utilises One Network and One Mains Point. This means most
existing classrooms can easily add multiple computers with ease.
Each unit is self contained with PC's or laptops and can also
include printers and other peripherals.
Unlike Laptop trolleys, our range of podDesking offers such
benefits as:

 |
Its PCs
dont Require Recharging!
Hardware is modular and fully upgradeable
Individual parts can be easily replaced in the event
of accidental damage, i.e.
Mice and Keyboards.
Requires only one network point, or can be wireless.
Requires only one Power Socket
With its clever use of angles, it can comfortably sit six
adults, but can accommodate up to twelve primary age
children
The two ends can be made height adjustable to accommodate
any special needs.
Provides an Excellent Group Learning Environment
Secure, as all items can be secured to the desk to avoid
theft. Also they can be stored areas over night, as they
are mobile.

The Science behind the Design
At pod-desking we have carefully taken many steps towards creating the
ideal computer-based learning environment, and to offer best
practise for group learning environments.
The Seating configuration we have created, not only conforms to
Physical ergonomic standards, it also conforms to many Cognitive
and Organizational ergonomic principles, as it creates a community
environment with everyone sitting at between 45o and 60o angle, which
promotes Collaboration as everybody faces each other in a
non-confrontational manner, and provides excellent group dynamics. The
evidence shows that Effective teams are an intermediary goal towards
getting good, sustainable results.

Studies show that personal space is very
important to individuals, and if invaded by another, makes them feel
uncomfortable. With the clever use of angles we employ, these issues are
reduced to an absolute minimum.
We have studied many Sociological best practises for teaching
environments, and have distilled them into the products we now create.

The
areas in green show a minimum requirement for personal space, and
the red areas indicate any infraction of these areas.

Physical
ergonomics
deals with the human body's responses to
physical and
physiological stress.
Cognitive ergonomics,
also known as engineering psychology, concerns mental
processes such as
perception,
attention,
cognition, motor control, and
memory storage and retrieval as they affect interactions
among humans and other elements of a system. Relevant topics
include mental workload,
vigilance,
decision making, skilled performance,
human error,
human-computer interaction, and
training.
