The Tales of Robin Hood is the leading and most popular tourist
attraction in Nottinghamshire – with regional appeal - and the
only Robin Hood centre in the UK. At the Tales of Robin Hood we
utilise audio-visual technology to transport our visitors
through 700 years of captured history.
From medieval minstrels to Hollywood movies, audience’s
imaginations continue to be captured by the world's most
infamous and endearing outlaw. Today, Robin, his merry men and
their legendary Tales are brought to life as you join them on
our travel back in time themed tour.

Visitors can step back in time with
Robin, England’s best-loved outlaw on his quest to fight his
evil archenemy, The Sheriff of Nottingham. Over 20,000 school
children successfully use The Tales of Robin Hood for
educational projects every year. The centre has its own
educational group offers, including storytelling, weapon
handling, archery and falconry sessions and a variety of project
work across the ability range including strong cross curricular
elements. An educational room is available throughout the day.

We have
updated our education pack, which is now available in CD
ROM format. This will be available free to all teachers
and organisers who attend the attraction. The CD ROM
will include key stage1, 2 and 3-study information for
both pre and post visit study activities. Helping key
stage 1 and 2 pupils grasp the concept of being able to
distinguish new from old, the concept of understanding
time beyond living memory – referring to situations in a
visual way – physical distinction. While key stage 3
concerns itself around the introduction of the
understanding of political ill decision and religious
propaganda. |

The Tales of Robin Hood
was designed alongside the national curriculum and has been adapted
annually to suit the new changes to make the attraction a top
educational centre to visit for establishments.

This is an
excellent opportunity, not to be missed, as all the schools and
organisations in the area can collectively work together to help
children gain information and skills in a fun and exciting way.
The Tales of Robin Hood - situated in Nottingham’s city centre -
prides itself in educational excellence. 20 years ago the
attraction was styled, built and the decision of its contents
was based on what the national curriculum demanded at that time.
Maintaining this, we annually adapt to suit the changes demanded
of the curriculum. From the very beginning we have seen schools
appreciate this fact by choosing us over others to bring their
pupils to our attraction.

With this
in mind we have developed an education pack, recently styled
around the most recent demands from the education sector. The
Education Pack is predominantly a pack for teachers, but
suitable for pupils and parents alike – teaching material is a
digital documentation of what you can find at the centre, with
references to medieval living, social issues and political
understanding of this time suitable for both Key Stage 1, 2 and
3 outcomes and guidelines. The pack contains both pre and post
visit study activities. |

receive your free education pack when you visit the
