Ski Schools
Skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities will benefit from taking lessons in ski school. It is possible to take them here in the UK, either at one of the 74 artificial ski slopes or two real snow slopes, or when you are actually in a ski resort.

  • Beginners – it is essential that beginners take lessons whether in UK or abroad. Lessons are great fun and ensure you progress at a safe and speedy pace!

  • Artificial ski slopes – for a full list of artificial ski slopes around the UK contact the Ski Club Information department, info@skiclub.co.uk or Tel: 020 8410 2009.

  • Real Snow Slopes – Tamworth Snodome and Milton Keynes Snozone are the only two indoor real snow slopes. They are well worth visiting but remember to take warm clothes and some gloves. Clothing (jacket and trousers) and equipment can be hired on site.

Buy or Hire?
Whether to buy or hire your kit is a common dilemma.

  • Buying – if you’ve got some cash spare and want to invest in wintersports equipment then buying your own ski or snowboard boots will be well worth the money. Well fitting boots make improving the sport so much easier. If you don’t have that much to spare, then buy gloves and UV protection glasses and or goggles first.

  • Hiring – If you ski or board for one or two weeks a winter then it’s best to hire your skis or board. In an industry when skis and boards are improving vastly each year, your skis/board will be out of fashion before you know it. For first timers clothing should also be hired.

Why not join up?
Get more from the slopes by joining the Ski Club of Great Britain. Just £12 for under 24’s, £48 for individuals and £69 for families.
