Our Role

2. To make focused investments through partners.
3. To provide advice, support and knowledge to partners and customers.
4. To influence the decision-makers and public opinion on sport.

Guidance, Templates and Technical Design notes
Sport England has designed a range of documentation, templates and technical design notes to help you develop and plan your project. In order to help shape and develop your project we recommend you look at these before making your enquiry.

It is not necessary to complete these at Stage 1 but they will give you an indication of what will be expected should your enquiry be encouraged.

Whether you are successful with your enquiry or not, you will find these resources extremely useful in the running and development of your project and organisation. Go to Further Help

Milestones in the application process

Sport England has developed an eight step approach providing detailed information of what is required from a project, from conception right through to after it receives funding. This is designed to help you understand what is involved in delivering a successful application.

Of course we understand that each project is different and this approach provides a general process overview. Achieving each milestone does not guarantee funding due to the competition for investment and we are unable to support all the projects we would like to.

Click here to view a diagram of the process for more comprehensive information about the eight milestones and what is required to successfully complete each stage.

If you have any questions about Sport England funding, please contact our helpline on 08458 508 508 (Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm)
