Sports Cricket has been established since 1995 and specialise in the
supply and installation of synthetic turf cricket surfaces for both indoor
and outdoor use, together with ancillary items such as practice cages.
The company is headed by
Peter Dury, who’s father first developed the concept of using materials
other than concrete for the base of a cricket pitch, and offers a range of
base designs and surfaces. Peter has been involved with synthetic pitches
since 1976 and has played club cricket for about the same period of time,
making his experience of pitches very personal.
Synthetic turf surfaces
are ideal for schools and colleges as they provide playing characteristics
similar to grass, without the expertise and cost involved in maintaining
grass facilities. By imitating good quality grass pitches they are ideal
for matches, general practice and specific coaching.
Practice facilities can be
provided complete with heavy-duty frames and netting, plus synthetic
surfacing around the batting and bowling ends in order to provide a neat
and tidy area with no grass to cut. This makes them ideal in situations
where the general maintenance of the ground is undertaken by larger
machinery.
The company carries out installations directly for clients, where some of
the most experienced men in the country undertake the work, or a number of
contracting companies through out the country carry our products within
their range of other services.

Some
schools have existing concrete bases or require surfaces for indoor use
and we also have surfaces that meet these requirements. For permanent
installations the combination of Scanabowl “B” and AP10 Shockpad provides
a true surface and takes some of the sting out of the bounce normally
associated with solid bases.
 Verdepitch
satisfies the roll up/roll out situation for both indoor and outdoor use.
This surface has a heavy PVC backing which helps the surface lay flat and
protects it during movement and storage. To help with the movement of this
surface we also supply transport units with appropriate wheels for both
