Waterstones.com is the standalone retail website
for Waterstone’s Booksellers – the UK’s leading bookseller.
Waterstone's first opened in Old Brompton Road, London, in 1982 and
currently trades from more than 300 stores, on high streets and in
shopping centres, and through numerous university campuses in the UK,
Republic of Ireland and continental Europe (Brussels and Amsterdam) as
well as on the Isle of Man, Jersey and the Isle of Wight.
Our reputation is built upon the knowledge and enthusiasm of our 4,500
booksellers. Our booksellers love great books and are dedicated to
finding the titles that our customers want.

Waterstones.com launched in October 2006 and has a
catalogue of over 2 million titles. As well as being a fully functional
transactional website, the site contains thousands of bookseller and
customer reviews and recommendations, exclusive interviews and
competitions and full events listings for all our stores.
|
In addition we also
provide the ability to check availability of titles in your local
branch, and our ‘ask a bookseller’ service offers bespoke
recommendations via email.
In Autumn 2006 we will launch additional content for parents and
teachers, this will include a Special Educational Needs hub
Waterstones.co/sen
and
Key Stage
pages.
Nationally we will also launch the Waterstone’s Card, a points based
loyalty programme with additional savings for members that you can
collect and redeem both
online
and in the high street.
All prices on Waterstones.com are online only and may differ from
Waterstone’s stores.

Waterstone’s and Dyslexia Action
At Waterstone's, we believe the joy of reading to be one
of life's fundamental pleasures which should be able to
be enjoyed by all. Waterstone's has supported Dyslexia
Action since 2003 as our chosen charity. As the UK's
leading bookseller we support Dyslexia Action because we
both believe reading to be a vital and life-enhancing
skill. Click
here for further information.

|
Our
partnership is a strong match - two organisations
committed to encouraging and enabling reading for
education and for pleasure.
Our work benefits Dyslexia Action by raising much-needed
funds and increasing awareness and understanding of
dyslexia. The partnership also encourages recognition of
Dyslexia Action and its valuable work.
We have produced a resource guide ‘Waterstone's Guide to
Books for Young Dyslexic Readers’, and useful
information for parents and teaches which are available
to
download
