As background information, ASCOL - Academic Sciences Company is the UK Division of Eagle Scientific Limited, an international company established over 20 years ago who manufacture and supply laboratory equipment to Schools, Colleges and Universities throughout the world.  

Two years ago we considered the time was right for the launch of a small specialist company such as ASCOL, staffed by people with a wide experience of supplying science equipment to education over a long period of time, both in this country and overseas to provide a similar service in the UK. With an extensive database of manufacturers and suppliers built up over years of tendering, we produced a 256-page Physical Sciences Catalogue, and in May 2001 copies were sent to over 7500 educational establishments throughout England, Scotland and Wales.  

ASCOL has two main advantages over market competitors. The first is it's wide product range, specifically its Physics based laboratory equipment, being able to offer certain items that are not available from any other supplier in the UK. Secondly, ASCOL prices are extremely competitive and compare favourably with those of its major competitors in the UK educational supply sector. We are also able to source and supply a wide range of science equipment not listed in the catalogue and can tender to supply complete laboratories.

In conjunction with Education Rentals Limited, a member of Hanover Financial Group, ASCOL offer funding services directed specifically to schools* (Head Teachers, Bursars & Governors), in response to the move to empower them with direct responsibility for their own financial resources and funding; this is also available to Colleges and Universities.
