Badger has been selling quality books to schools since 1989.
Originally we concentrated entirely on reading boxes, pulling
together the cream of newly-published titles to save teachers
the time and effort involved in combing through publishers’
lists to find the best books for the school classroom and
library
Badger Reading Boxes for primary and secondary
Our Badger Reading boxes proved very popular, and have gone from
strength to strength. In our first year we had just four boxes
for primary schools. Now we have close to a hundred primary
boxes, and another thirty for secondary schools! All the books
in these collections are chosen by independent Educational
Consultants who read and select the very best books from the top
children’s publishers such as Penguin, Walker, Hodder, as well
as many others.
Wendy Body is our main consultant and box compiler for both
primary and SENs boxes. We change these selections annually and
they include collections for specific age ranges and genres.
School Bargain Bookshop
Also very popular with teachers are our ‘value for money’ range
of reading boxes from the School Bargain Bookshop range. These
reading boxes contain top quality books which we are able to
sell to schools at up to half the original price. We keep a
limited range available in stock and we sell on a first come,
first served basis. When we have sold out of a collection, we
replace it with an entirely new one. Our new Autumn 2008/Spring
2009 catalogue is available and a copy has been sent to all
primary and nursery schools.
Badger Publishing for primary and secondary schools
Badger has another flourishing arm to the business. Over the
past eight years Badger Publishing has established itself as an
exciting new name in educational publishing. Our fast-growing
list offers you quality pupil and teacher books across the
curriculum, for children aged 3 to 16 years. We publish
resources for English and Literacy, Maths, Science, RE, History,
Geography, PHSE and Citizenship, ICT, Modern Foreign Languages,
Drama and Music.
New for 2008/9
Many secondary teachers have told us they would like to buy a
class set of certain titles from our Badger Reading Boxes so we
have made available a selected list of books which can be bought
in class sets with an excellent discount. During 2008/9 we will
be expanding our range all across Badger Publishing as we
continue to update and add to our collections. Please contact us
