Butonz.com have had a full e-commerce presence for many years, due to the recent dramatic increase in on-line sales we are currently upgrading the site to streamline the shopping experience by integrating many advanced features.

Of particular interest for schools is our on-line purchase order facility with automatic credit terms. Schools have a built in discount structure and their own special offers, which will be regularly updated. The system has been designed for ease of use. For schools to benefit from the above facilities they simply have to register their details on-line and use their password-protected login when ordering. Each school has their own wish list allowing them to shortlist required items and order them when their budget allows. All invoicing is done on-line, with a purchase history simplifying the process of re-ordering.

Whilst our core business is centred upon laminators, binders and their consumables our range of products is steadily growing. When we introduce a new range we always try to ensure that there is a good choice and that the products are reliable and competitively priced. We are currently expanding our range of inks & toners to include originals as well as our existing range of competitively priced compatible cartridges.

Laminators are generally divided into 3 types:

• Light use – often referred to as personal laminators, they are ideal for the home or office where you only need a machine occasionally.

• Medium use – for the situations where you are laminating on a daily basis.

• High Use/Commercial – where the machine is in constant use.

Laminators designed for light use are often only suitable for laminating pouches up to 200mic total so make sure your choice of machine meets your requirements.  On the heavier duty machines you often get adjustable temperature, adjustable speed, reverse function, a higher spec of heating element, heavier duty motor and in the case of our heavy duty Ikon range, a 2 year warranty.

LAMINATING POUCHES
Our pouches come in all sizes and types including matt, gloss, sticky-backed and coloured.  Our pre punched A4 pouches are ideal for protecting class notes. By using oversized pre punched pouches your notes and documents can be stored in ring binders and easily taken out for photocopying.  If you need advice on the type of machine or pouches you require we are always available assist you.
 

Laminators also have craft many uses and it can be great fun making bookmark, key rings etc. When sheets are laminated back to back and cut out you end up with two sheets laminated on one side. With these you can design your own templates and make all kinds of models etc. Using magnetic paper you can laminate and cut out your designs for long lasting fridge magnets.

BINDING
Presentation of work is paramount with the advances in technology and binding is a good way to present work in a professional manner at a low cost.  Our comprehensive range of machines includes slide, comb, wire and thermal machines along with all the accessories required.
 

Thermal Binding – Probably the quickest and easiest solution for binding reports, projects and notes. The documents are put into pre gummed covers. They are then inserted into the thermal binder whish melts the glue and sticks the sheets together. Once cooled, they give a neat professional finish, which is idea for coursework and projects.

You are able to reheat the document to add remove sheets. For a top quality finish we also have a machine to produce hard backed booklets.

Comb binding – This method uses plastic combs inserted into holes along the length of the paper. These are probably the most widely used and are great for notes, archiving documents, reports etc.. They are suitable for documents up to about 450 sheets. Add covers and backs to suit. Combs come in a variety of colours.

Wire binding – Documents bound this way can lay flat when open and can be folded back on themselves. Uses a similar method to comb binding but with a more professional finish. Add covers and backs to suit. Wires come in a variety of colours. An ideal solution for large quantities of documents such as producing student planners in house. There is also machine which can produce calendars – a great idea for fundraising.

Slide binding – The most basic of binding methods, which does not require a machine. A simple plastic strip grips the sheets of the document together. Pages can be easily removed and added to when required. Strips are re-useable. You can add clear or card covers and backs if required. If you are using this method we have a gadget to help apply the slide binder quickly called Bindaslide.
 

SHREDDERS In today’s world it is important to dispose of sensitive documents in a responsible manner. This applies to personal as well as work documents. Shredders are ideal for disposing of bank statements, old cheque books, sensitive data and documents covered under the data protection act etc..

There are two basic types strip cut and cross cut. As the names suggests, the strip cut shreds the paper into thin strips and a cross cut shredder cuts into small pieces. There are different ratings for these machines dependant on the size of cutter. The higher the rating, the smaller the paper is shredded.
