For Cartridges |

In
the last decade alone, over 250 million print cartridges have been dumped in
landfill sites. Important environmental issues aside, this represents an
enormous waste of money.
The
Cartridge Warehouse, are re-manufacturers of used ink jet printer cartridges.
They need ongoing supplies of empty cartridges in order to provide their
service.
The
focal points of any local community are its schools and colleges. Resources are
always limited. Schools and students all over the U.K. can benefit directly and
instantly by turning their community’s waste print cartridges into hard cash,
not points.
Last
year, The Cartridge Warehouse launched a programme designed to triple the
number of cartridges recycled. Today, hundreds of schools, colleges, charitable
organisations, businesses & individuals throughout the UK are involved in
the programme to collect cartridges in return for cash. The programme continues
to expand with the introduction of the www.empties.co.uk
web site which is designed to ‘spread the word’ about the collection of empty
ink jet cartridges and is promoted through the Educational Infomat Campaign.
Participating
is simple. Pupils, staff and colleagues
are involved in their local community collecting cartridges from homes and
businesses. Each cartridge is worth up to £4.50 enabling schools and colleges
to raise hundreds or even thousands of
pounds every month.
The
programme is ongoing and rapidly expanding. In 2000 the value of cartridges
collected exceeded £100,000. This year, The Cartridge Warehouse aims to inject
more than £300,000 directly into school funds.
Ink jet
printers are widely used in homes & businesses throughout the country, this
program provides an excellent opportunity for people to be involved in an
environmentally sensitive issue whilst helping to raise much-needed funds.
