Children's Aid Direct makes an immediate and lasting improvement to the lives of children and their carers who are affected by conflict, poverty or disaster. We do this in innovative and practical ways, providing food, shelter, healthcare, education, training and advice, empowering communities and enabling our donors and volunteers to be involved in working for children.

During the last 11 years we have raised and spent over £93 million, including donations from thousands of enterprising individuals and community groups. We rely on your support to raise money and spread the message of Children’s Aid Direct to your friends, family and colleagues.

At Children's Aid Direct there is no place for bureaucracy, so no money goes in paying for it – an average of 88p in every £1 goes towards our overseas activities.

Thousands of people have turned their skills, hobbies and passions into activities that raise money for Children’s Aid Direct – so why not join them! Students are excellent at using their initiative, imagination and energy to turn ideas into income. Some of their fundraising activities have included a sponsored swim, a music hall concert, a barn dance, and an autumn fair.

Children's Aid Direct can provide resource packs for teachers, designed for use in the classroom in order to give pupils a greater understanding of the work of Children's Aid Direct. These can also be adapted to fit in with their National Curriculum requirements. Many teachers find it a useful way to educate children about different cultures.

If you like to get out into the great outdoors, you could join us on our annual sponsored walking event, Walking for Life, taking place near Reading. This year, there are two walks on offer – a four-mile walk (including a picnic by the River Thames and a free action pack for children), and a ten-mile walk (which takes in the beautiful Chiltern Hills.)
